KAYAPÓFIELD

COURSE

APPLICATIONS FOR 2019 ARE OPEN

Founded in 2004, this field course (open to students and non-students) is a partnership of North American (Purdue and UMD) and Brazilian (UnB, UFU, and UFPA) universities with the Kayapó-led NGO, Associação Floresta Protegida, and Aldeia A'Ukre.

Topics cover a broad range of disciplines from anthropology to ecology. Sustainable development projects such as this course are vital to Kayapó livelihoods as Amerindian villages in the Brazilian Amazon continue to succumb to the pressures of extractive industries.
